Function of Steam Turbine Blades

Nov 05, 2025 Leave a message

Steam turbine blades are subjected to high-temperature, high-pressure steam, experiencing significant bending moments during operation. Moving blades operating at high speeds also bear high centrifugal forces. Blades located in the humid steam region, especially the last stage, are subject to electrochemical corrosion and water droplet erosion, while moving blades also withstand complex vibration forces. Therefore, the steel used for turbine blades should meet the following requirements:

1. Sufficient room temperature and high-temperature mechanical properties and creep resistance;

2. High resistance to vibration damping;

3. High structural stability;

4. Good corrosion and erosion resistance;

5. Good processability.
